Modou Sarr
Jabou Sarr proprietor of Abdul Rahman Bun Zubair Quranic memorization center in Busumbala has called on the government, business entrepreneurs and philanthropists to come to the aid of the school ahead of the rainy season.
The school which is located in Busumbala London, was opened in 2008 and is operating as a boarding school. Almost two hundred students are learning the Quran here and half of that were being lodged at the school, she disclosed.
Oustaz Sarr highlighted some of their main constraints among which is lack of enough classrooms for the growing number of students, feeding and the allowances to the Qustasses. She stated that, the school is registered under AMANA and operates in line with its conditions.
When rainy season arrives, we encountered so many problems because the classrooms are not well built, there used to be lot of water everywhere, even in the rooms. The children used to be very uncomfortable especially when the rain falls at night.
Another constraint is the feeding of the students. Feeding has been a challenge to the school, as some of the students came from less privilege homes. Sometimes we do received donations from certain individuals, we appreciate it but that are not enough to cater for numerous constraints they faced.
Asked by this reporter why she embarked on turning a well situated compound in to a school? Qustaz Sarr responded that, it has always been her aim to open a school where people will come and learn the glorious Quran, not for any worldly recognition but only to have the pleasure of Allah and in the hereafter. It was for that reason, when i bought this land and i said i will make it a school. Alhamdullah that dream has been fulfilled. She added that, her parents are the ones who taught her the Quran before heading to Tallinding for further studies.
