Omar A. Manjang has won the Youth in Business Award 2026 in the Excellence in Agribusiness category, earning a cash prize of D75,000.

The award was presented as part of the Chinaโ€“Gambia Friendship Bantaba: Youth in Business Awards 2026, organised by the Gambia Youth Chamber of Commerce (GYCC) in collaboration with the Chinese Embassy in The Gambia.

Manjang had earlier expressed excitement following his nomination in the agribusiness category, which recognises the role of business and entrepreneurship in promoting economic development.

His eventual success marks a significant achievement and highlights the growing importance of agribusiness as a sector with the potential to create employment, strengthen livelihoods and contribute to national development.

The D75,000 cash prize accompanying the award provides further recognition of Manjangโ€™s achievement at the 2026 awards.
