Witness Seargent Adama Jagne Arrested By the National Assembly.

The National Assembly Select Committee has ordered the arrest of witness Seargent Adama Jagne for witness interference.

“Jagne had been called to provide information on the recovery, management, and movement of vehicles and other assets identified by the Janneh Commission. However, the Committee later received reports suggesting that he had contacted or attempted to influence potential witnesses linked to the ongoing investigations.”

According to the assembly, Jagne appeared before the Select Committee on four occasions to testify on recovery, management, and movement of ex-President Yahya Jammeh’s vehicles and other assets identified by the Janneh Commission.

The Committee said they later received reports suggesting that he had contacted or attempted to influence potential witnesses linked to the ongoing investigations.

Delivering the ruling after the application by Counsel Kah, the Chairman of the Select Committee, Abdoulie Ceesay, said:

“The Sergeant-at-Arms of the National Assembly shall arrest Sergeant Adama Jange and deliver him to the custody of the Gambia Armed Forces Military Police for investigation and detention pending his appearance before this committee.”
