Police arraign man for killing biological son

Police in Brikama have on April 1, 2026, arraigned one Lamin Jawara before the Brikama Magistrates’ Court in connection with the alleged killing of his son, Modou Lamin Jawara, which occurred on March 20, 2026, in Busumbala.

The prosecution applied for the matter to be transferred to the High Court due to the Magistrates’ Court’s lack of jurisdiction. The application was granted, and the accused was remanded at Mile II Central Prison pending further proceedings.

The Gambia Police Force urges the public to refrain from all forms of violence, especially against children, and to resolve grievances through lawful means.
