Talib Bensouda posters torn apart in Lamin after launching political movement

Talib Bensouda may need to brace himself politically, as diehard United Democratic Party (UDP) loyalists express growing anger against him following the sensational launch of his political movement.

The latest display of disapproval came from an elderly woman in Lamin, identified as Jola Badjie, who was seen tearing down the young mayor’s posters from the party’s bureau wall.

“He betrayed us, and we will also betray him,” she said, describing Talib as a betrayer.

“If anyone shows dislike for our old man, we will also show our dislike,” she added, vowing to remain a loyal supporter of Ousainou Darboe.

Talib has reportedly been losing support among staunch UDP backers, with some women’s groups even retracting the “fatherhood” title previously bestowed upon him.

Despite this, Talib and his team insist they remain cherished by many Gambians, as he urged the public to rally behind him in a bid to unseat President Adama Barrow in 2026.
