Support for the elderly: EFF promises D1,500 stipend for citizens of over 60years of age.

By: Modou Touray

The EFF Gambia has made a promise to provide financial assistance to its citizens, specifically to those who are 60 years and older. This commitment includes a monthly stipend of D1,500 and other relief packages for families in need.
During the launch of EFF Gambia at Jama Hall, Prince Ebrahim Sanyang announced this pledge to support the community. As part of their “Fourth Promise Dignity and Relief for Families,” the party leader also mentioned the implementation of a monthly Family Relief Package for low-income households dealing with the high cost of living.
Mr. Sanyang stated that no hardworking Gambian should be stuck in poverty and the EFF will make sure to provide a living wage, improve civil service conditions, promote affordable housing, and aid persons with disabilities and other vulnerable individuals.
According to Mr. Sanyang, these initiatives are not acts of charity from political leaders, but rather the rightful return of the people’s resources to the people themselves. He also assured that every commitment made by the EFF will be planned, budgeted, and monitored to ensure effective delivery.
