Puntalana FC crowned Champions of Brikama North Pre-Season Tournament
Puntalana FC have been crowned champions of the 3rd edition of Honourable Alagie S. Darboe’s Brikama North Pre-Season Tournament after edging Kabafita United 4-3 on penalties, following a goalless draw in regulation time.
The tournament, fully organised and sponsored by Hon. Alagie S. Darboe, National Assembly Member for Brikama North and Minority Leader of Parliament, is designed to foster unity within the constituency while also preparing teams for the annual Brikama Nawettan.
The grand finale attracted high-profile guests, including executive members of the United Democratic Party.
Party leader and 2026 presidential flagbearer, Lawyer Ousainou ANM Darboe, had the honour of presenting the trophy to the champions.
As part of his continued support for grassroots football, Hon. Darboe also covered the registration fees of 17 teams in the ongoing Brikama Sports Committee Nawettan, amounting to D170,000 (D10,000 per club).
In addition, 10 non-affiliated villages and teams received D5,000 each.
