GPF-DCAF trains officers on gender policy and sexual harassment response

The Gambia Police Force, in partnership with the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF), has conducted a week-long capacity-building training focused on Gender Mainstreaming and Sexual Harassment, Exploitation, and Abuse policies.
The training which was recently held at  Metzy Hotel, aimed to equip GPF officers with essential skills and knowledge to effectively handle cases of sexual misconduct and promote a safe, inclusive, and gender-sensitive working environment.
A total of 19 officers from various components of the Force participated in the training, which centered on the Generic Gender Mainstreaming Policy and the Generic Sexual Harassment, Exploitation, and Abuse Policy.
At the end of the program, participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the training.
The initiative reflects the Gambia Police Force’s commitment to building a professional and gender-responsive institution, in close partnership with DCAF and other stakeholders supporting GPF’s ongoing reforms.
