GID-Africard Completes Sensitization on Decentralization of Biometric Passport Enrolment Services in CRR

In the second phase of the first day of the sensitization program on the decentralization and extension of biometric passport enrollment services, the delegation—led by Commissioner Foday Gassama—met with the Regional Governor of the Central River Region, Honourable Ousman Bah, and District Chiefs in Janjangbureh.

The Governor and his District Chiefs welcomed the extension project, citing the numerous challenges citizens of the Central River Region have faced over the years in processing biometric passports. They expressed appreciation to the Government of The Gambia, through the Ministry of Interior and the Gambia Immigration Department, for this thoughtful and timely initiative.

The Honourable Governor reaffirmed his support and commitment to the successful implementation of the project.

As part of the decentralization process, a quarterly mobile enrollment team will be established to visit all approved regions—enhancing access to passport services in a more convenient and hassle-free manner.
