He is one of the contenders of the office of UN Secretary General. His endorsement by the government of his own country has been hanging in the balance. After a tumultuous welcome in Senegal and a successful rapprochement with President Diomaye Faye, the Senegalese government made a declaration of their support for Macky Sal’s bid for the post of UN Secretary General. Furthermore, in his Facebook page he has thanked the Senegalese people and President Barrow.
