Armed Robbers Posing as Police Strike in Farafenni

 

Police in Farafenni are investigating an alleged armed robbery that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday behind the Oryx Petrol Station in the Mauritanian area.

Preliminary reports indicate that seven unidentified individuals, some armed with firearms and cutlasses, attacked a business premises at around 03:00 hours. The suspects reportedly posed as police officers, overpowered night watchmen, and gained access to two shops.

A substantial amount of money, including Dalasi and CFA, along with mobile phones and other valuables, was reportedly stolen before the suspects fled the scene.

Police responded shortly after the incident, but the perpetrators had already escaped. The scene was later processed by Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) with support from the CID.

Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible.
