Johanna Thors, a representative of Apollo and a Danish-based international tour operator, recently paid a courtesy call on the Honorable Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abdoulie Jobe, at his office in Banjul.
Speaking during the meeting, Madam Johanna expressed Apollo’s keen interest in operating in the Gambia, citing that the Gambia is an outstanding tourism destination.
She said this is their maiden season operating in the Gambia as a result of a joint marketing venture they have entered into with the Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard), and they wish to continue working with the GTBoard.
Abubacarr S. Camara, the Director General of the Gambia Tourism Board, who was also in attendance, highlighted that the Joint marketing between Apollo and the Board has contributed to an increase in Destination Gambia’s arrival numbers this year.
In receiving the Apollo representative, Honorable Minister Abdoulie Jobe, on his part, thanks Johanna and local partner, Malleh Sallah, for the warm courtesy call.
He encourages the Gambia Tourism Board and Apollo to continue working together. This, he said, would assist the Gambia in regaining the Scandinavian Market, which the Gambia holds dearly.
Minister Jobe then assured Johanna of the Gambia Government’s commitment to supporting Apollo’s operations in the Gambia.
