The Gambia Immigration Department Migration Management Unit (GID-MMU), represented by ASI Alkali Jammeh, on the 13th March 2026, engaged students of the University of Education The Gambia (UEG) on the dangers of irregular migration at the Brikama Campus.
As a public lecture platform organised by the school, ASI Jammeh delivered a guest lecture on the theme: ” Implication of Irregular Migration on Youth Skills Development and Employment in the Gambia”
He highlighted the risks, consequences and negative impacts of irregular migration, particularly accounting on the staggering loss of lives, impact on education, skills and national development.
ASI Jammehโs interaction with the students fostered a meaningful discussion and a way forward in combating irregular migration, aligning strongly with GIDโs efforts to strengthen border security and migration management.
The GID reaffirms its availability and dedication in engaging with schools and communities to address emerging migration challenges.
