In a significant step toward promoting good governance and feminist leadership, ActionAid International The Gambia’s Local Rights Programme (LRP) 11 office has successfully conducted a two-day intensive capacity-building workshop. The training, held in the Central River Region (CRR) North and South, brought together district tribunal members, Alkalos, and women leaders, providing them with essential knowledge and tools to enhance their leadership roles.
The workshop focused on empowering participants with skills in good governance, ensuring that they can drive positive change within their communities. The emphasis on feminist leadership highlights ActionAid’s commitment to gender equality, aiming to strengthen the leadership capabilities of women in these regions.
Participants expressed their appreciation for the training, noting that it provided them with new insights into governance and leadership. The workshop is expected to have a lasting impact, enabling the participants to apply these lessons in their respective roles and contribute to the development of their communities.
ActionAid International The Gambia continues to demonstrate its dedication to building the capacities of local leaders, fostering an environment where good governance and feminist leadership can thrive. This initiative is a crucial step in empowering the people of CRR-North and CRR-South to take charge of their development and ensure that their communities are governed with integrity and fairness.
