The Children National Assembly of the Gambia (CNAG) holds First Ordinary Session 2025

The Children National Assembly of the Gambia (CNAG) on Thursday held its First Ordinary Session in the year 2025 at the National Assembly of The Gambia. During the session members elected a new speaker, took oaths of office, and adopted a position paper aimed at building a better future for the children of the Gambia.

The session which was attended by government officials and development partners featured various key activities including the adoption of a position paper under the theme “working with children to build a better Gambia”.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the deputy speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Seedy S.K Njie, emphasized the importance of the children National Assembly in any given country, stating that “the gathering is not just an event, but a bold declaration that the future of the nation cannot and should not be built without the voices, ideas, and contributions of its youngest citizens (the children).”

Hon. Njie also highlighted the establishment of this Assembly is a shining testimony that their democracy is alive, inclusive, and forward-looking by recognizes children not merely as beneficiaries of policies but as partners in shaping them.
