“Spiritually, alcohol can be incredibly destructive” -says Pastor prince Leo amadi

By: Modou Touray
Pastor Prince Leo Amadi of ESMC Evangelism and Revival Ministries Global highlighted that alcohol consumption deeply impacts our lives therefore weakening us spiritually. In an exclusive interview with the New Global Media, Pasto Amadi said alcohol is often seen as a harmless way to relax or celebrate but its consumption can have far-reaching effects that extend beyond the physical realm, affecting our spiritual, physical, and social well-being.

“Spiritually, alcohol can be incredibly destructive. The Bible gives us poignant examples of how alcohol misuse leads to downfall and disgrace. Take Noah, for instance. After the flood, Noah planted a vineyard, made wine, and became drunk, lying naked in his tent (Genesis 9:20-21). His indiscretion led to a curse on his grandson Canaan, showing how one act of drunkenness can have far-reaching consequences. Another example is Lot, who was made drunk by his daughters and then taken advantage of, leading to grave sin (Genesis 19:30-36). These stories illustrate that alcohol can impair our judgment and lead us away from righteousness, causing us to act in ways that dishonor God and bring negative repercussions to ourselves and our families.”

He further added that The Bible provides Christians with wisdom and guidance on this issue, highlighting the potential dangers and consequences of alcohol misuse. By understanding these impacts, people can make informed decisions that honor God and promote a healthier, more fulfilling life.

“Physically, alcohol can wreak havoc on our bodies. It is well-documented that excessive drinking can lead to a host of health issues, including liver disease, heart problems, and a weakened immune system. The Bible advises us to treat our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), implying that we should avoid substances that can harm our health. When we indulge in alcohol, we risk damaging the very vessels through which we serve God and others. By maintaining sobriety, we honor God with our bodies, ensuring that we remain healthy and capable of fulfilling His work.”

Pasto Amadi stressed that the spiritual, physical, and social harms of alcohol are significant and well-documented in both scripture and modern science. He call on christians to strive to live in a way that honors God, protects their health, and fosters loving, supportive communities. He encourage people to consider the role of alcohol in their life and to seek God’s guidance in making wise choices.
