Speaker Fabakary Tombong Jatta receives the Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament

The ECOWAS Speaker was in Banjul to participate in the Delocalised Meeting of the Joint Committee on Trade, Customs and Free Movement / Legal Affairs and Human Rights / Social Affairs, Gender, Women Empowerment and Persons with Disabilities / Political Affairs, Peace, Security, and APRM between 26th and 30th August 2024.

During their meeting, the two Speakers discussed parliamentary development and the ongoing efforts to strengthen the ECOWAS Parliament. Speaker Ibrahima commended The Gambia’s representation within the regional parliament.

Hon. Jatta warmly welcomed Speaker Ibrahima to The Gambia, expressing his appreciation for her visit. He acknowledged the honour and emphasised the importance of continued collaboration between the two parliaments.
