Serekunda United FC maintained their status in the GFF second division league

Serekunda United FC maintained their status in the GFF second division league following a hard-fought 2-4 victory on penalties over Football Heros FC in today’s playoff finals at the late Ousman Saho Field in Old Yundum.

Serekunda United who needed to win to regain their second tier status, were dominant throughout the game, but were unable to break the deadlock after many attempts close to Football Heros net.

The game was finally decided on penalty shootouts with the experienced Serekunda United side triumphed 2-4 to avoid being relegated to the 3rd division.

With their win today, Sere Kunda United have joined Young Africans and thus secured the two spots reserve for the Greater Banjul Area Playoffs for promotion to the national Second Division League 2024/25
