Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye met over the weekend with Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, founder of the Dangote Group, for talks focused on energy, fertiliser production and industrial investment under Senegal’s 2024–2029 National Development Strategy.
The meeting, attended by Dr Okey Oramah, President of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), explored ways to strengthen local production and build strategic partnerships with African investors.
According to the Senegalese Presidency, Mr Dangote “congratulated the Head of State on the organisation of the Invest in Senegal Forum, commending Senegal’s commitment to building a sovereign, innovative economy centred on local transformation,” and expressed his intention to deepen economic cooperation with the country.
The Invest in Senegal Forum opens this week in Dakar.
