The National People’s Party (NPP) is mounting a high-stakes diaspora fundraising and outreach drive in Seattle, USA,on August 15, 2026, as it prepares for the crucial December presidential election.
Senior NPP officials have begun arriving in Seattle ahead of the event, underscoring the party’s determination to convert diaspora support both financial and moral into a decisive advantage.
Attending officials include NPP National President and Fisheries Minister Musa Drammeh, Nominated National Assembly Member Maimuna Ceesay, Presidential Political Adviser Saihou Mballow, NAM for Jarra West Alieu Baldeh, NPP Finance Director Lamin Saidy, LRR Governor Seedy Lamin Bah, and Presidential Adviser on ICT and Digital Economy Ousman Bah.
Former First Lady Tuti Faal will serve as chief guest of honour, and Professor Ba Samba Njol Drammeh is designated father of the night. Tuti Faal (Tuti Faal Jammeh) served as First Lady from 1994 until 1998.
Under the theme “Strengthening National Development Through Global Gambian Engagement,” the Seattle event aims to mobilise funds and solidify diaspora backing for the ruling party ahead of December’s presidential contest. NPP National President Musa Drammeh has confirmed his attendance and says further details will follow after the event.
NPP Media and Communication Director for USA and Canada Professor Ba Samba Njol Drammeh framed the fundraiser as more than a cash drive. “Every contribution sends a clear signal that the diaspora stands with President Adama Barrow’s vision and the National People’s Party,” he said.
The Seattle fundraiser is part of a broader, well-resourced campaign architecture the NPP has been building since early 2025. In June 2026 the party rolled out a nine-point platform, “Consolidating Progress, Expanding Opportunity, Securing the Future” and launched digital outreach in all five national languages to widen engagement. The party has distributed vehicles and motorcycles to regional organisers and staged large rallies, including a major turnout in Brikama, to shore up support in key regions.
President Barrow has publicly set a target of 75% of the vote in 2026, up from 53% in 2021—a signal of the administration’s confidence and its intent to dominate the electoral map.
Seattle hosts a sizable community of Gambian professionals, students, and long-term residents whose remittances and advocacy influence politics at home. By staging the event there, the NPP is targeting a high-capacity donor base to underwrite campaign infrastructure, media buys, and mobilization.

Saul Kebba Krubally, chairman of the organising committee and head of the NPP Seattle chapter, said the ground is set for one of the party’s most organised diaspora engagements. “We will demonstrate NPP’s strong support in Seattle and raise funds for the December presidential election,” Krubally said, adding that Seattle city councillors and other US politicians are expected to attend.
