New Batch of Prison recruits commence training.

A new batch of recruits for the Gambia Prison Services officially commenced their training on Monday, April 8, 2025, marking the beginning of their journey toward national service. The recruits, both male and female, stood in formation during their first drill session, showing enthusiasm and commitment under the bright morning sun.

The training program is designed to equip the recruits with the necessary knowledge, discipline, and physical fitness required to serve in the prison service. Over the coming weeks, they will undergo intensive instruction in areas such as prison security procedures, human rights, ethics, first aid, and overall prison operations.

This intake reflects the government’s continued commitment to strengthening the Gambia Prison Services and promoting professionalism within its ranks. The inclusion of both men and women underscores the growing role of gender inclusivity in national security institutions.

As the training progresses, the recruits are expected to embrace and uphold the core values of discipline, integrity, and dedication that define the mission of the prison service.
