On Saturday morning, the National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) held a press conference to brief the media in connection to a study tour by the Guinea Bissau energy utility companies known as EAGB.
Gallo Saidy NAWEC’s managing director emphasized the importance of the visit noting that it builds relationship and to working together as a team. Water and Electricity, he said are fundamental pillars of our existence. Therefore, our collective success will depend largely on how we support, learn and inspire one another through study visits like this. Strengthening regional partnerships, he stated is key in building resilient and sustainable energy.
The head of the Guinea Bissau delegation said they are in Banjul to learn best practices in water and electricity department. Guinea Bissau and the Gambia, he continued are practically the same people as both countries are members of the OMVG and WAP energy projects. The visit gave us the room to improve as the Gambia is ahead of us in terms of water and electricity implementation. He also recognizes the important roles of water and electricity in our day to day life. This he said are key components of human existence and it takes a lot of hard work to regulate its reliability, affordability and most importantly its safeness.
