Inspection of the Independence Stadium by H.E. the President

Today, H.E. President Adama Barrow, accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and other Senior Government officials, conducted an extensive inspection tour of the newly renovated and constructed facilities at the Independence Stadium. This tour highlighted the significant progress made in enhancing our national sports infrastructure.

Expressing his gratitude to his team and development partners for their unwavering support, the President urged Gambians to be patient, emphasizing, “It’s the government’s job to fix the stadium, and we will do it.”

In an interview with journalists, the Hon. Minister of Information, Dr. Ismaila Ceesay, praised the remarkable development across all sectors. “The parallel multi-sectoral projects in health, higher education, sports, infrastructure, energy, and agriculture are unprecedented,” he noted.

“We need to thank the President for his vision, foresight, innovative thinking, and for generating the necessary resources.”

These improvements highlights government’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s infrastructure and overall development
