Latrikunda Sabiji National Assembly Member Yaya Menteng Sanyang has fired back at Brikama Area Council Chairman Yankuba Darboe over his swipe at KMC Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda.
Sanyang hit out, saying Talib is “operating on a higher political level” and has no time to trade words with local leaders.
“Talib will only engage and respond to party leaders and presidential candidates, as they represent his political level. Local leaders seeking his attention will be unsuccessful,” Sanyang declared.
His reaction followed Yankuba Darboe’s dig at the KMC after boasting that his Brikama Council had “inspired” Bensouda’s team to donate D315,000 to its zonal committee, though less than BAC’s D500,000.
“It’s a good start! They’ll soon begin scholarships and ward development funds! Like I said, we’ll keep them busy ” Darboe quipped.
