Inn a generous move aimed at bolstering the capacity of the Gambia Police Force, GACH Global Group, led by its Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abubakary Jawara, donated a brand-new pickup vehicle on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. The vehicle was formally presented to the Inspector General of Police, Seedy Touray, at a ceremony held at the police headquarters in Banjul.
During the handover, Dr. Jawara emphasized the importance of supporting the police, acknowledging the significant role they play in maintaining law and order across the country. He highlighted the high demand for police services and the challenges they face, particularly in terms of transportation and mobility.
“Police are doing very well for the citizens, and yet they have little in terms of vehicles to help them deliver their duties without hindrance. I am here to do my quarter in nation-building,” Dr. Jawara stated.
The donation comes at a crucial time when the police force continues to strive for better resources to enhance their operational efficiency. The new vehicle is expected to greatly assist the police in responding more effectively to incidents and fulfilling their duties across the country.
Inspector General of Police, Seedy Touray, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the entire police force, noting that the donation will significantly aid their efforts to serve the Gambian people more effectively. He was joined by senior officers who also appreciated the gesture from GACH Global Group.
This act of corporate social responsibility by GACH Global is seen as a positive contribution to national development, reinforcing the collaborative efforts needed to support the vital work of the police in The Gambia.
