Crackdown on homosexuals,singer Ouzin Keita arrested in Dakar

 

‎The arrest came amid the ongoing crackdown on alleged homosexuals by the Senegalese authorities since the beginning of the month of February 2026.

‎Keita and his entourage closed themselves in an apartment in the Almadies neighborhood on Friday where they were caught in the act of consuming ecstasy pills, a type of drug that is subject to increased surveillance by the judicial authorities.

‎Lubricants and condoms, among other things, were also seized.

According to Dakarposte, 14 other people, including a Gambian, presumed to be gay, are currently being held behind bars in Dakar.
