Emphasizing merit-based promotions: The Vice President decorates dozens of army officers.

Today at the Gambia Armed Forces Defence Headquarters, Vice President His Excellency Mohammed BS Jallow presided over the decoration ceremony for almost 68 junior and senior officers, promoting them to the ranks of Captain, Major, and Lieutenant Colonel on behalf of President Adama Barrow.

The event was attended by key dignitaries including Honourable Minister of Defence Ambassador Serign Modou Njie, Chief of Defence Staff Lieutenant General Mamat OA Cham, and National Security Adviser Abubacarr Jeng, highlighting the dedication and loyalty of the officers.

Vice President Jallow emphasized the importance of merit-based promotions, ongoing government support, and strategic international partnerships. President Barrow also donated D250,000 to the victims of the recent Hamza Barracks fire incident in Banjul.
