Dr. Gagigo Claims Rejecting D30 Million Inducement from Gov’t

By Kemo Kanyi

Dr. Ousman Gagigo, the leader of Patriotic Progressive Alliance (PPA), has claimed that the government of President Adama Barrow offered him a D30 million to induce him joining the government but turn down the inducement simply because he doesn’t enter politics for money.

In a recent interview on The Final Take, Dr. Gagigo also added that he will not blame citizens who labelled politics as dishonest opportunists, acknowledging that some politicians do not mean what they preach to electorates, but stressing that not every politician betray their words of trust.

“I was approached by this government with some offer doing almost nothing to be paid D30 million. I turned it down because I’m not in it for money,” he claimed.

The PPA leader added that people are seeing a sufficient number of politicians saying one thing today, and tomorrow, they are changing. He cited that he wouldn’t blame anybody if they think politics is full of dishonest or opportunists who will turn and join the government at the slightest moment of being enticed.

He emphasized that there are people who the government cannot buy, stating, “I am one of those people. They offered me far more than they offered Ismaila Ceesay, and he didn’t turn down.”

He openly stated that there are lots of other avenues open to him where he can make money far more than the government offered him.
