Samba Bah, an adult resident of Brikama Darusalam, appeared before Magistrate K.B. Sambou at Brikama Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, facing three criminal charges.

On the first count, Samba Bah was charged with entering a dwelling house with intent to commit a felony, contrary to Section 257(2) of the Criminal Offences Act 2025. The offence allegedly took place on October 3, 2025, at Brikama Darusalam, where Bah is said to have broken the burglary-proof of Mustapha Beyai’s house with the intent to steal.

The second count stated that the accused, Samba Bah, stole six plastic chairs valued at D4,200, the property of Mustapha Beyai, in violation of Section 226 of the same Act.

On the third count, Samba Bah faced another charge of stealing three mobile phones belonging to Fatou Saidy and Halima Fadera. The items, allegedly stolen on October 3 at Manduar in the West Coast Region, included a ZTE phone valued at D9,900, a Samsung phone worth D14,437, and a Redme phone valued at D20,625, totalling D44,962.

After the charges were read to the accused, he pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.

During proceedings, the prosecuting officer, CPL A. Bah, requested an adjournment to secure witnesses but did not object to the accused being granted bail.

The court subsequently granted Bah bail in the sum of D100,000 with one Gambian surety. The surety is required to deposit a valid ID card or passport with the court registrar. The case has been adjourned to November 5, 2025, for the evidence-in-chief of the first prosecution witness.
