Bakoteh United FA Through to Next Phase of MSA League Cup

Bakoteh United FA have secured their spot in the round of 16 of the Manjai Sports Association (MSA) Qcell-sponsored League Cup Nawettan, following a 2-0 victory over ECOWAS FC that saw them top Group F.

Kabero Dampha opened the scoring for Bakoteh United from the right-hand side, while Sellou Jeng added the team’s second goal in the second half, following a goalless first half. The win marked BUFA’s second victory of the campaign.

With the result, Bakoteh United FA now lead Group F on goal difference, narrowly overtaking Brusubi Phase II, who had briefly topped the group. The current standings for Group F are: BUFA 7 points, Brusubi Phase II 7 points, ECOWAS 3 points, and Dahaba 0 points.

In another Group F encounter, Kololi United defeated Old Hands 2-0, handing Old Hands their second defeat of the competition. An own goal by Karra Njie in the 42nd minute opened the scoring for Kololi United, with Muhammed Baldeh adding the second goal in the 65th minute, just two minutes after his introduction. Kololi United have now also qualified for the next round with 5 points.

Meanwhile, Kotu FC and Kololi Central played out a goalless stalemate in a nail-biting encounter at Manjai Park, sharing the points.
