Africmed Donates to Boost Student Welfare at the University of The Gambia

Africmed International Hospital last Friday made a generous donation to the Executive Council of Economics and Management Sciences Students’ Association (ECOMANSA) at the University of The Gambia, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The contribution, warmly received by ECOMANSA leadership, strengthens a partnership that began during a courtesy visit to Africmed’s Chief Executive Medical Director, Dr. Omar Jagne, in September. During that visit, both parties discussed plans to equip a sick bay at the SBPA campus for quick access to healthcare, establish a printing center to ease academic challenges, explore scholarship opportunities, and collaborate on broader student welfare projects.

“This support marks a major milestone in enhancing student welfare at SBPA,” ECOMANSA President Muhammed Conateh said, highlighting the importance of the hospital’s engagement.

Since September, Conateh has maintained regular communication with Africmed leadership to ensure the partnership remains productive. The hospital’s donation is a direct result of this sustained engagement and mutual commitment to student development.

ECOMANSA expressed profound appreciation to Dr. Omar Jagne and Africmed International Hospital for their generosity and belief in advancing student welfare. The donation, the association noted, reflects true corporate citizenship and reinforces the connection between the health sector and the student community.

“This contribution demonstrates Africmed’s proactive role in improving the health, academic, and overall experience of SBPA students. We remain grateful for their continued support,” Conateh added.
