A rented facility in Yundum is still without electricity following a dispute over buying cash power.

Sillah Kunda, a compound belonging to Alhagie Sillah which is inhabited by seven tenants has only one cash power everybody is sharing. According to Ba-Sheriff Janko, most tenants default in buying cash power tokens.

” Each of us buys D500 per month. I bought mine already but three of the tenants are still to settle theirs”

Saikou Njie, a University Student said his homework and assignments are hampered by the lack of electricity in their compound.” The compound owner should provide cash power meters for each of us. It’s stressful to spend the night in a dark room.”

Apart from Sillah Kunda, all the other surrounding households don’t experience this kind of frustration, according to Ramu Keita.

” I refuse to buy cash power because most of the tenants claiming that they bought don’t normally buy the exact amount. They Cheat u.”

Compound-sharing cash power meters are a major factor causing tension among tenants.
