Government Agencies Assess Collapsed Bridges In Nioro Jattaba

joint assessment team from the National Road Authority (NRA) and the National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA) visited Nioro Jattaba on Wednesday to assess the impact of collapsed bridges, which have severely disrupted access to farmlands for local residents.

As previously reported, the collapse of two key bridges following heavy rainfall posed a big challenge for the community, affecting both human and animal movement.

Following her visit to the affected areas, the Regional Disaster Coordinator for the Lower River Region, Awa Daffeh, described the situation as an emergency requiring immediate attention.

The Principal Regional Engineer for the NRA, Alhagie Bakary Ceesay, has initiated a comprehensive assessment of the damage and is preparing a report with proposed solutions for submission to the NRA headquarters.

The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Demba Sabally, has assured the public that the government is prioritising the issue and working closely with the Ministry of Works to address the situation promptly.
