JAPANDAL FOUNDATION DONATES OVER D50,000 WORTH OF ITEMS TO TANKA TANKA PSYCHIATRIC UNIT

On the 8th August 2026 The Japandal Foundation, a registered humanitarian charity in The Gambia, on Saturday 8th August 2026 donated foodstuff and other essential items worth over D50,000 to the Tanka Tanka Psychiatric Unit at Mariama Kunda.

Japandal Foundation is registered in The Gambia with a membership of over 250. The Foundation also has counterparts in Dakar, Senegal with whom it conducts annual exchange visits to share experiences and best practices in humanitarian service.

Presenting the items, the Vice President of the Foundation, Mrs. Saffie Nyassi Touray, said the donation was part of Japandal’s continued commitment to support vulnerable communities.

She highlighted other humanitarian gestures the Foundation has rendered to communities across the country and reiterated their resolve to stand with institutions like Tanka Tanka that care for some of the most vulnerable in society.

The staff of Tanka Tanka received the donation with appreciation and thanked Japandal Foundation for the timely intervention.
