President Barrow continues development tour with inspection and inaguration of projects

On Tuesday, President Adama Barrow carried out a nationwide tour to oversee progress in critical areas of development, including the inspection of a solar-powered rice irrigation project in Karantaba and the inauguration of a 26km road.
During his visit to Karantaba, the President closely examined the ongoing work being done through the Gambia Inclusive and Resilient Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (GIRAV). This project aims to enhance year-round rice production by implementing solar-powered irrigation infrastructure, which includes solar panels, water pumps, canals, and roads for rice plots. Its ultimate goal is to increase yield while reducing dependence on diesel-powered irrigation systems.
In addition to inspecting the rice irrigation project, President Barrow also officially opened the 26km road project that connects Karantaba to Reneru, Tabani, Dem Faye, Njaga, and Fitu Fulla, as part of the EPC Lot 2 project. This initiative is a crucial step towards improving road connectivity and accessibility for these communities.
These activities were just a part of the President’s comprehensive development tour, which prioritizes agriculture, infrastructure, and other crucial projects throughout the entire country.
