Police in the Central River Region North are investigating a shooting incident in Kerr Makka Tukulor, Upper Saloum District, which left one man injured on Monday.
According to police, the incident stemmed from an altercation between two brothers. During the dispute, the suspect, Sarjo Jawara Senior, allegedly armed himself with a locally made hunting gun. Alieu Njie, who attempted to intervene, was shot in the left arm.
Njie was rushed to Njau Health Centre for initial treatment before being referred to Farafenni General Hospital for further medical care.
Crime Scene Investigators from CRR North processed the scene, recovering a locally made hunting gun, a spent cartridge, and an empty cartridge cover. Police say the firearm has been secured for forensic examination.
The suspect remains at large, and police have launched a manhunt to apprehend him.
