The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat on Wednesday wraps up its usual Ramadan food items to various institutions and vulnerable groups including the prisons, tanka tanka psychiatric hospital, KMC and the Organization for social development and inclusion for persons with disabilities.
In his address before the convoy move for onward distribution, Baba F. Trawally Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat The Gambia highlighted the significance of sharing and caring especially during the Holy month of Ramadan. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) was the kindest human being created by Allah and during the month of Ramadan he increases his kindness towards the poor and the needy. We as moslems needs to follow the footsteps of our Holy Master. Ramadan Amir continued, is a blessed month from the beginning to the end and as moslems we should capitalize on it inorder to gain maximum benefit and blessings.
It has been a tradition of the Jamaat to distribute essential food items like rice, onions, cooking oil, sugar, Irish potatoes etc to our neighborhood, vulnerable groups, prisons, heath facilities and the needy. Over 400 bags of rice, 400 gallons of 5litre groundnut oil, 100 bags of onion and Irish potatoes equipment to over six hundred and eighty seven thousand dalasi ( D687,000).
