The Drug Law Enforcement Agency of The Gambia (DLEAG) has revealed that it has in custody a 27-years-old Marcel Mendy a resident of Ziganchor (Senegal) was arrested at Jenoi check point on the 11th March 2026 at around 09:20 hours GMT onwards with (40) blocks of suspected cannabis resin (hashish) concealed in five separated red plastic bags and three separate transparent plastic bags. Other individuals were also arrested in separate locations within the country.
26 years old Salieu Sey and 26 years old Kebba Susso both resident of Farato were arrested on the 10th March 2026 at around 13:35 hours GMT onwards with (31) bundles, (66) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white and brown paper, multi coloured rice bags and with a blue and orange coloured Mercedez Benz with Registration number WCR 6405D.
27 years old Suwaibou Colley a resident of Manduar was arrested on the 13th March 2026 at around 20:08 hours GMT onwards with (14) bundles, (1) parcel of suspected cannabis sativa and (1) stone of suspected cannabis resin (hashish) concealed in brown paper, black plastic bag and inside two separate rice bags.
20 years old Yankuba Jarju a resident of Kusamai was arrested on the 11th March 2026 at around 07:20 hours GMT onwards with (4) bundles of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in brown paper and inside a black and white coloured bag pack.
28 years old Lamin Jarju a resident of Somita was arrested on the 14th March 2026 at around 11:20 hours GMT onwards with (3) bundles of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in brown paper and inside a multi coloured bag pack.
25 years old Omar Mboge a resident of Sukuta was arrested on the 11th March 2026 at around 13:53 hours GMT onwards with (868) pills of ecstasy concealed in a transparent medical plastic bag.
19 years old Sulayman Sowe a resident of Brikama was arrested on the 14th March 2026 at around 23:30 hours GMT onwards with (2) bundles of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in brown paper and inside a multi coloured bag pack.
29 years old Dawda Jawo a resident of Nyofelleh was arrested on the 9th March 2026 at around 22:22 hours GMT onwards with (2) bundles of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in brown paper and inside a multi coloured bag.
39 years old Ousman Sillah a resident of Brikama was arrested on the 10th March 2026 at around 23:30 hours GMT onwards with (1) bundle of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in brown paper and inside a multi coloured bag.
28 years old Sarjo Jallow a resident of Bijilo was arrested on the 15th March 2026 at around 01:30 hours GMT onwards with (1) bundle, (12) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white and brown paper and inside a multi coloured bag pack.
22 years old Sankung Jabbie a resident of Sanchaba Sulay Jobe was arrested on the 13th March 2026 at around 18:47 hours GMT onwards with (10) parcels of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white paper and inside a multi coloured bag.
24 years old Ebrima Ceesay a resident of Sukuta was arrested at Kanifing Depot on the 13th March 2026 at around 13:00 hours GMT onwards with (84) pills of ecstasy concealed in two separate plastic bags and placed inside a black pair of shoes.
30 years old Mustapha Joof a resident of Sinchu Alagie was arrested on the 13th March 2026 at around 12:32 hours GMT onwards with (24) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white paper and inside a transparent plastic bag.
30 years old Ebrima Ceesay and 21 years old Lamin Bojang both residents of New Yundum were arrested on the 13th March 2026 at around 12:00 hours GMT onwards with (12) parcels of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in white paper and inside a multi coloured bag.
17 years old Allege Child Offender (ACO) a resident of Nema Kunku was arrested on the 11th March 2026 at around 23:35 hours GMT onwards with (21) wraps of suspected kush concealed in white paper and inside a transparent medical plastic bag.
28 years old Jalla Jarju a resident of Latri Kunda German was arrested on 11th March 2026 at around 23:45 hours GMT onwards with (12) small bags of suspected cannabis ruderalis (skunk) concealed in transparent plastic bag.
Muhammed Jimbala, a resident of Bansang, was arrested on the 11th March 2026 at around 18 hours GMT onwards with (6) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in a brown paper and inside his pocket.
22 years old Kaddy Jatta a resident of Busumbala was arrested on the 9th March 2026 at around 23:36 hours GMT onwards with (3) small bag, (17) pieces of suspected cannabis ruderalis (skunk) concealed in black and transparent plastic bag.
28 years old Bubacarr Correa a resident of Busumbala was arrested on the 9th March 2026 at around 23:36 hours GMT onwards with (1) small bag, (8) pieces of suspected cannabis ruderalis (skunk) concealed in a transparent plastic bag.
31 years old Lamin Bojang a resident of Makumbaya was arrested on the 9th March 2026 at around 18:35 hours GMT onwards with (16) parcels, (2) wraps of suspected cannabis sativa and (29) pieces of suspected cannabis resin (hashish) concealed in white piece of paper and foil papers.
41 years old Bernard Arinze Ibeh a Nigerian resident of Bakoteh was arrested on the 9th March 2026 at around 21:20 hours GMT onwards with (17) pieces of suspected cannabis resin (hashish), (33) pieces of suspected cannabis ruderalis (skunk) and (12) pills of ecstasy concealed in transparent plastic and medical plastic bag.
36 years old Haruna Tamba a resident of New Yundum was arrested on the 8th March 2026 at around 02:00 hours GMT onwards with (5) bundles, (128) parcels of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in brown and white paper and inside an empty rice bag.
“All the suspects are currently in custody while investigations into their respective matters continue. Management assures the public of the Agency’s unwavering commitment to addressing the drug problem and therefore calls for continued public support, collaboration and participation in the crusade on drug abuse, and illicit drug trafficking in the country,” DLEAG stated.
