VP Jallow presides over the inauguration of the Crab Island Development Sustainable Center

Muhammed BS Jallow Vice President of the Gambia Friday evening presided over the inauguration of the Crab Island Development Sustainable Center at a colorful ceremony held in Banjul. The event marks a major milestone in the country’s urban development drive.

In his statement, VP Jallow stated that the center will serve as a powerful symbol of what a strong partnership can achieve in building a more greener, more resilient and prosperous future for the country.
The modern state of the earth facility was made possible through the collaboration between Banjul City Council ( BCC) , the European Union and the city of Ostend in Belgium and it will serve as a place of innovation, learning and community engagement. It features an 800 seater multi purpose hall, community radio station, recording studio, labs, innovation hub, IT center, working offices arts and cultural spaces and green recreational areas designed to empower communities and inspire young business entrepreneurs.

The Mayor of Banjul Rohey Malick Lowe said it was a proud moment for the people of Banjul and commended the strong partnership coupled with trust, confidence and shared purpose.
