A Gambian Rapper identified as a victim of Fajara Nightclub shooting

 

Jan 21, Police have arrested three men following a shooting at Envy Night Club in Fajara that left 28-year-old Gambian rapper Muhammed Buari Mendy wounded early Sunday.

The suspected shooter, 26-year-old Saliou Gaye of Fajara South, was quickly apprehended after fleeing the scene. Also in custody are Abdou Faal, alleged to be an accomplice, and Karamo Saidy, suspected of supplying the firearm.

Authorities have not disclosed the motive or the weapon used. The victim’s current condition remains unknown.

The arrests highlight ongoing police efforts to tackle gun violence in The Gambia, with investigations continuing.
