International Friendly in Egypt: Gambia draws with Kuwaiti team 2-2

The Gambia’s Scorpions were held to a 2 2 draw by Kuwait in Tuesday’s international friendly in Egypt, despite taking a commanding two goal lead earlier in the match.

Abdoulie Ceesay was the standout performer for the Scorpions, scoring twice, first in the 42nd minute to break the deadlock, then adding a second shortly after the restart in the 53rd minute.

Gambia looked in control, but Kuwait clawed their way back into the contest. Yousef Nasser reduced the deficit from the penalty spot in the 65th minute, shifting the momentum of the game.

With the Scorpions moments away from securing victory, Mohammad Tala Al Sharifi struck in the 90+2 minute to complete Kuwait’s comeback and force a draw.

The result ends the friendly on level terms, leaving the Scorpions to reflect on a missed opportunity after a strong start.
