On Saturday, 4th October, and Sunday, 5th October 2025, the Unite Movement for Change successfully held its first inaugural meetings at the Ebunjan Theatre in Kanifing Layout, KMC.
During the meetings, Talib Ahmed Bensouda made a presentation on the vision, mission, and principles of the Movement. He emphasized that the Unite Movement for Change is a Movement of Integrity, transformation and inclusion — one that belongs to all Gambians. It is a people-led Movement that will grow into a truly inclusive political party.
Presentations were also made on key areas such as:
The importance and style of communication
National mobilisation drive Party structures
Constitution building
In addition, five committees were formed to serve as the engine room of the Movement:
1. Secretariat and Administration Committee
2. Communication Committee
3. National Mobilisation Drive Committee
4. Fundraising Committee
5. Constitutional Building Committee
These committees represent the open and participatory spirit of the Unite Movement for Change.
They are open to all Gambians — regardless of background, region, or past affiliation — so long as they are committed members of the Movement. This inclusiveness is what makes Unite unique: transparent, citizen-driven, and people-owned.
As emphasized during the inaugural meetings, the Unite Movement for Change does not belong to Talib Ahmed Bensouda — it belongs to all Gambians who believe in integrity, inclusion, and national progress.
