Police have rounded up scores of locals after a violent bust-up over land erupted between Jabang and Sukuta.
The rival communities have been at each other’s throats for years over the disputed plot, with warnings of bloodshed if the state didn’t step in.
Although no deaths were confirmed, several people were left battered in the mayhem.
Riot Police fired volleys of teargas to scatter the crowds, but furious Jabang residents accused officers of storming homes and brutalising families.
Journalist Kaddijatou Bohoum, who works with GRTS, claimed she and her relatives were manhandled. She posted a video showing injured victims being treated in hospital.
