Today marks a significant achievement in The Gambia’s international labour cooperation as Spanish Chargé d’Affaires Violeta Insa officially handed over visas to 39 selected workers for the circular migration programme to Spain.
At the orientation ceremony held at the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment, these pioneering workers received final preparations before their departure on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Key Highlights:
• The Spanish Chargé d’Affaires Violeta Insa congratulated the workers while emphasizing their crucial role as the first batch, noting that the programme’s success rests on their shoulders. Workers were reminded of their great responsibility and urged to respect their contracts as part of this circular migration initiative.
•PS Mod AK Secka commended both The Gambian Government under His Excellency President Adama Barrow and the Spanish Government for creating this laudable initiative that provides a formal pathway for international employment.
“This programme represents the commitment of both governments to continue this partnership,” PS Secka told the selected workers, urging them to serve as good ambassadors for The Gambia.
This historic initiative opens new doors for structured international employment opportunities and strengthens bilateral cooperation between our nations.
