The match kicked off with a high tempo, and the school team wasted no time in making their mark. Abdou Mboob, a key player for the Gambia Under-17 national team, scored a spectacular goal to give the school team a 1-0 lead. Mboob was assisted by Kajally Marena, who plays for the Gambia Under-15 national team. Their seamless connection and youthful energy were evident, setting the stage for a thrilling contest.
However, the ex-student team responded quickly. Abdullah Sallah equalized for the ex-students, bringing the game to a 1-1 draw as the first half ended. It was clear that both teams were highly motivated and determined to win.
The second half brought more drama. The school team regained the lead through a penalty taken by Alfusainey Ceessy, who confidently converted to make it 2-1.
