Yunus English School Press Club tours media houses:A journey of learning and Inspiration

In an effort to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the professional world, the Yunus English School Press Club embarked on an educational tour on Tuesday, visiting some of the most prominent media houses in the Greater Banjul Area. The tour was designed to inspire the young minds of the press club and expose them to the diverse opportunities within journalism and broadcasting.

The students visited esteemed institutions such as the Media Academy for Journalism and Communication (MAJAC), Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS), QTV, and Paradise TV. At MAJAC, they toured state-of-the-art facilities and engaged with professionals who provided valuable insights into the workings of the media industry. The interaction offered the students a firsthand experience of what it takes to succeed in journalism and broadcasting.

Musa Antony, a member of the press club, reflected on the experience, expressing gratitude for the opportunity. “This experience has opened our eyes to the realities of the media world. We now better understand the dedication and creativity needed to excel in this profession,” the student said.

The vice principal of Yunus English School, Mr. Lamin Sanno commended the students for their outstanding conduct during the tour. Speaking on behalf of the school administration, he shared heartfelt congratulations, stating, “Your dedication, teamwork, and exemplary conduct have not only represented our institution with pride but also highlighted the immense talent and potential within our community.”

Mr. Sanno also extended gratitude to the teacher coordinators, applauding their unwavering commitment to guiding the students. “Your efforts have provided our students with an invaluable learning experience and an opportunity to grow beyond the classroom,” he remarked.

To the students, he added, “Your enthusiasm, creativity, and professionalism have been truly commendable. You have shown the world what it means to be ambassadors of excellence and have made us all incredibly proud.”

This tour marks a significant milestone for the Yunus English School Press Club, igniting a passion for media among its members and equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to contribute meaningfully to Gambian journalism.

As the students reflect on this achievement, they are inspired to aim higher and continue striving for greatness. The Yunus English School remains committed to nurturing curiosity and innovation, ensuring a brighter future for the next generation of storytellers.
