Following our last night’s capture of images of indiscriminate waste dumping at Brikama Market Nana Junction, the Women’s vendor said to the BAC cleansing service to dispose of it in the morning.
In a chat with a few women they exclusively disclosed to the New Global Media that the council permitted them to throw the waste at the strategic junction for easier collection.
” A container has been placed for us to put our water there.” Awa Njie said
The designated Temporal dumping point is also used by people who carry their waste from away to dump it at the” Nana” Junction.
” Waste is allowed to be dumped there but not for Town residents. They are abusing it” Sally Banda asserted
While there is a call for the proper disposal of the waste, vendors urge town residents to take their waste elsewhere.
” The place is for market vendors to gather their waste after closing then the BAC staff collect it in the following morning”Kaddy Bojang clarified.
As town residents continue to abuse the temporal dumpsite, market women vendors lament for discipline to control the site.
