“We want to reduce firewood and charcoal consumption thus preserving our environment” -Beakayang ED

Addressing young metal workers at the starts of a 3 day at Nyakoi Taibatou ,  the  Executive Director of Beakayang Mr Nfamara Jawneh urged participants to take the training seriously while his organization embarks on campaign to improve energy efficient cooking stoves.
“We want to reduce firewood and charcoal consumption thus preserving our environment,” he said.
Lead trainer Abubacarr Jawneh told participants that the their is a viable market for the improved stoves in the region.
Meanwhile at the end of the training the participants will form the first event improved stoves producer’s association in the region under the auspices of Beakanyang.

Beakayang is currently at Nyakoi Taibatou on a  three-days skills training on improved cooking stoves making for metal workers.

Stage by stage the  youth are learning the techniques so quickly.

The day 2   of the  skills training for  metal workers,The participants drawn from Beakayang’ s various energy efficient cooking stoves and renewable energy project intervention committees had perfected  their skills.
This project is being funded by UNDP’s Climate Promise Programme.

The  day 3 of the  ongoing training of young metal workers in Taibatou, Wuli West District of URR,the trainees are fabricating their stoves with little supervision from the trainers.

“We thank UNDP for supporting this activity and many others under our energy efficient cooking stoves and renewable energy project.”
