Senegalese news outlet Seneweb has published new details from the ongoing investigation involving television presenter Pape Cheikh Diallo, citing alleged confessions and audio recordings examined by investigators.
According to the report, the Research Brigade of the Keur Massar Gendarmerie Company has dismantled what it describes as a network of 12 men suspected of engaging in same-sex relations, eight of whom were found to be living with HIV following recent medical examinations.
Seneweb reports that investigators recovered audio recordings from seized mobile phones during the inquiry.
The recordings allegedly involve Pape Cheikh Diallo and singer Djiby Dramé. When confronted with the audio evidence during his initial interrogation, Diallo is said to have admitted to the allegations.
“I do it against my will because it’s a habit of mine. I can’t break it anymore,” the presenter allegedly told investigators, according to information cited by Seneweb from the national gendarmerie’s investigation file.
