Residents say the Ebo Town’s poor drainage system remains unresolved.

Due to its riverside location, the Ebo Town neighborhood in the Kanifing Municipality bears the brunt of rain-induced floods.
Some houses were very close to the river Gambia making them susceptible to flooding.

Bakary Jurju who resides close to the river lamented that his house is  exposed to disaster while calling for assistance for possible relocation.
Last week some compounds were flooded leading to huge destruction to properties.
” Every rainy season, we suffered too much. The drainage system is bad.” Sunkary Badjie said.
This medium inspected the part of the community and discovered the resident’s battle with flashflood during the rainy season.
“We cannot put the blame on the government or the council, some people also throw rubbish into the gutters which blocks the free flow of rainwater,” Mai Njie said
The chances of rain-induced disaster in the Ebo Town neighborhood are high and measures must be in place to address these challenges.
